Development of Strategic Vision (DEUTSCHER TEXT FOLGT IN KÜRZE)

As VP, Business Transformation for one of SIEMENS´ largest divisions, we decided to re-organize into 9 strategic business units. To drive the business (and management team-building) process, we executed a series of Workshops where we jointly developed the strategic vision as well as a crisp mission statement for each of those units.

One of the key challenges for such development is to overcome the daily operational pressures as well as the paradigms of of the past that limit our minds, and to engage in a creative process. Also, it is important to create the right athmosphere that opens up people`s mind to grasp and build on new ideas and concepts, rather than protecting and defending the status quo.

As we organized the visioning exercise as a collaborative experience, the critical buy-in of all participants was ensured and team structures were developed. As a result of this coordinated effort, the clear understanding of direction and underlying shared cultural values generated substantial momentum at management level, with its subsequent transmission on staff level.

The development of a vision is a challenging creative process, that builds on your (personal) strengths, your aspirations, on industry-(r)evolutions and (mega-)trends such as digitalization, and on the resulting (customer/market) opportunities that are a stretch from your current status, but still realistically within reach. A clear and crisp, emotionally compelling vision is the source of energy that keeps you moving forward and overcoming barriers and limitations. Without a vision, the company and its staff lacks clear direction. Let´s talk about your vision and bring the pieces of the puzzle together, to get the big picture of your future.
