FINE DINING IS DEAD. LONG LIVE CASUAL FINE DINING. SAME APPLIES FOR LUXURY FASHION.
I personally enjoy the experience of fine dining. But I must admit that it is even better when you can enjoy your quality "slow-food" in a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere, other than the traditional, rather stiff and over-formalized etiquette - there were places, were you were supposed to silently contemplate and admire the chef's creation like an ancient masterpiece in a museum. Well, most of these places got out of business, as there has been a trend to the "casual fine dining". Looks like the same is happening to formalwear - even in the world of luxury. Athleisure is not only a flavour of some months - it resonates with today's new style of life. Even CEOs of blue-chip corporations suddenly feel obliged to "un-tie" and get themselves a pair of sneakers - a prerequisite for earning the important "cool"-label that will decide about the image and future, (whatever that means for authenticity). Although we know that we can already count the days until people want to play again with more formalized elements - brands will have to cope with the new need of casual luxury. They will probably find this transformation easier than many of the former haute-cuisine restaurants.
